Pennsylvania Colleges & School Districts Choose Sportexe® for High Quality Synthetic Field Systems

Bethlehem’s Moravian College and Liberty High School researched and chose Sportexe field systems, joining more than four other facilities in their preference for Sportexe turf this year alone.

ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, September 22, 2005-- Like most states throughout the U.S., Pennsylvania has joined the trend, adopting advanced technology synthetic turf systems for all levels of recreation.

The state’s universities, high schools and colleges are showing their preference for soft, grass like, high performance fields from Sportexe, the same company chosen by the Buffalo Bills, New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Ravens.

In Bethlehem, Pa., Sportexe was the choice of both Moravian College and the Bethlehem Area School District, according to Paul Moyer, Moravian’s athletic director. “We just happened to be in the market for synthetic systems at the same time, so we shared information and came to the same conclusion – we were both impressed with Sportexe,” he noted.

Moyer said the goal of the College was to make sure it invested in a quality surface, long-lasting surface for its student athletes. “We assessed the different qualities of turf, looked at all levels – high school, college, pro – and invested in a quality, long-lasting surface. We were searching for state-of-the-art and we believe we found that in Sportexe.” said Moyer.

Similarly, Sam Senneca, athletic director for Liberty High School, said the school district sought a safe surface that could withstand “three times the amount of use” most fields get. (Liberty’s Frank Banco Field serves as home field for three area high schools.)

Sportexe installed both Bethlehem systems earlier this summer and both the process and products have received a warm reception, according to the athletic directors. “The installation went well – Sportexe was easy to work with and we got what we’d hoped with the field system,” said Senneca.

At Moravian, Moyer said student athletes, coaches and the administration are “extremely pleased with the outcome and look forward to using Rocco Calvo Field for years to come.”

In other parts of the state, Sportexe has or will soon install its cushioned, shock absorbent systems at Keystone Oaks’ Dormont Stadium in Pittsburgh, North Penn High School in Landsdale and St. Francis University in Loretta.
